Dodonaea angustifolia (Hopbush) is a evergreen shrub form  measuring in height from 12 to 20 feet and width from 10 to 15 feet. Its native habitat is on rocky slopes  in the lower elevations of the Sonoran Desert to the Oak woodland in the higher elevations of 6000 ft. It is frost sensitive (little leaf damage) at 25 degree F, however survives at 18 degrees F. Inconspicuous flowers are wind pollinated and the winged fruit is also dispersed in the wind.
